March heralds shocks and surprises
What’s my sense of the energies as we move into March?
Old physical ailments — some possibly even from past lives — resurfacing, apparently randomly. We’re encouraged to sit with them, to acknowledge and accept them, let them pass through us… see unexpected illness as old energies on their way out, rather than external attacks on our bodies.
Continued challenges in relationships as we find ourselves renegotiating boundaries, our core values and desires for our lives. Our intimate relationships may well reflect the schisms and polarisation playing out in the collective. If we can (frequently!) remind ourselves to come back to the strengths in our relationships — to what we love most about partners, siblings, parents, friends, and what connects us — we can soften the edges of our feelings and soften our judgments.
The ongoing need for grounding. And by grounding I also mean being able to stand one’s ground, not be sucked into others’ moods or dramas, let alone those playing out on the world stage. Are you spending enough time in nature? I know when I haven’t gone out to the woods or countryside for a few days, or even just sat in my garden for a few minutes here and there, that I feel increasingly out of balance and more easily riled or ruffled.
Welcoming in signs of spring — every daffodil or flourish of blossom is a celebration of renewal, rebirth, regrowth and potential — all qualities that keep being drowned out by the wave of misery and horror, fear and anger, being propounded by mainstream media.
More unexpected changes and shocks: people’s illnesses, suicides, emotional reactivity. There’s a greater collective energetic shift happening here that even the most spiritually connected people can’t fully explain or describe. We are morphing as a species — I’ve really come to understand this viscerally — and that metamorphosis can feel shocking. There’s often a sense of reckoning, an encouragement to re-evaluate and surrender at the root of it. Can we trust in the process? Can we resist a little less, to make it an easier transition?
Another tranche of old paradigms being overthrown, more minority voices now having the upper hand (finally), as old imbalances seesaw the opposite way before a better balance can be restored. There’s always an opposing force — that’s how our universe is made and works! Finding homeostasis, balance, the neutral centre point (also known as zero point), will be the future… and will come from a realisation that the opposites are actually the same. Heads or tails? They’re just two sides of the same coin. Light and dark? We can’t perceive one without knowing and being able to contrast it with the other. Yin and Yang, or hexagrams 1 and 2 of the I Ching – the Creative (Yang principle) and the Receptive (Yin) birthed the third energy, “from which came the 10,000 things”, according to the Tao Te Ching. As we move back towards oneness, a still point emerges from the very centre. Still yet radiant. That is God.
A gentle touch
So yes, a deepening of spiritual awareness — awareness of other realms, greater consciousness of the needs of others around us, and how utterly interconnected we are… these are all possibilities for the month of March and beyond.
Creative urges, needing to find and follow one’s individual flow — and feeling thwarted and frustrated if we’re (seemingly) blocked by others. Finding the point of least resistance to work round obstacles: these are all part of the tapestry of energies of this month of Pisces, a Water sign.
More truths surfacing as tightly held secrets are released. Things emerging from the deep, as though the very oceans are baring their secrets: metaphysically or perhaps even literally. Environmental causes, especially around water pollution and the power of the seas, may also be prominent this month. The oceans hold a significant key to humans finding harmonious ways to harness energy. Will there be a breakthrough in March?
If we can stay gentle with other people, receptive and listening, feeling our way into others’ perspectives, there’s the chance of lots of little rapprochements, and perhaps even bigger ones… but it’ll come from the groundswell of “ordinary” people rather than from nominated or self-appointed leaders.
It feels to me as though a lot will move through us this month, a lot could change internally or around us… personally and collectively. Gentleness of heart and expression helps it feel like a smoother ride.
Lastly, the Equinox on 20th March is a bigger reminder that balance and equality are precious, to be nurtured, valued and encouraged. Sense their stabilising effects. It feels good!
With love
